Universal Orlando has announced an expanded live music lineup for the 2020 edition of Mardi Gras.
The event will run nightly at Universal Studios Florida from Feb. 1 through April. The concert lineup on the Music Plaza Stage will include:
All the bands will begin their sets at 8:30 p.m.
Several of the bands are returning guests to Mardi Gras; Earth, Wind, & Fire, All-American Rejects, and Kool & the Gang all played during the 2017 event while REO Speedwagon graced the stage in 2016 and Gavin DeGraw performed last year.
In total, the event will include 16 concert dates — three more than in 2019 and as always, all of the concerts are included with regular admission to Universal Studios Florida.
Universal is also adding a few new touches to the New Orleans-themed extravaganza, which is celebrating its 25th year. The nightly parade will feature six new floats under the theme “Treasures of the Deep,” taking inspiration from mythical undersea creatures and the lost city of Atlantis.
New food options will also be available. Along with the usual Cajun favorites like gumbo and jambalaya, the event is adding a new Carnival Around the Universe tasting tent, with a menu that will expand throughout the event.
Also returning is the Bayou Boil, which debuted last year. This add-on experience includes an all-you-can-eat spread of Louisiana specialties, as well as special viewing area for the Mardi Gras parade.
