For the tenth consecutive month Orlando International Airport (MCO) has recorded both domestic and international passenger growth. In April, domestic traffic climbed by its highest margin in over four and a half years up nearly 8.8 percent.

“Our increase in domestic traffic is a positive reflection of the popularity of this market and with expected new service announcements this trend should continue,” says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “This reinforces our unanimous decision at our last board meeting to start planning for the South Terminal project.”

Fueling part of the growth was an increase in seat availability with 9.4 percent more capacity from the airlines.

April 2015 Statistical Data:

  • Domestic traffic increased 8.76 percent with 2,931,336 passengers at MCO
  • International traffic climbed 9.70 percent to 430,606 travelers through Orlando International
  • Overall traffic jumped 8.88 percent with a total of 3,361,942 passengers for the month of April
  • On a rolling 12-month scale passenger traffic is up 5.40 percent with 36.6 million travelers.
