Tampa Bay Rowdies down Charleston Battery to reach USL Eastern Conference Final
It wasn’t pretty but a hard working performance from Tampa Bay Rowdies was enough to overcome Charleston Battery as a single goal by Lucky Mkosana decided the USL Eastern Conference semi-final on Saturday night.
The game was the fifth match up between the teams this season and it was always going to be a close run affair as the Battery had won three of those previous encounters. The deciding goal came in the 79th minute as Mkosana nodded up and over Joe Kuzminsky in the Battery goal from a Zach Steinberger free kick on the left side of the field.
The Eastern Conference Final will be played on 24th October at 7.30pm and will see the Rowdies travel to Louisville City who defeated Saint Louis 2-0 in the other semi-final.
