Tampa Bay Comic Con returns to Tampa for its seventh year starting July 28 and stars from The Walking Dead, Star Trek, Batman and The Princess Bride will all be present.
Tampa Bay Comic Con is one of the more affordable conventions for fans as adult tickets range from $30 to $60 and kids 12 and under get in for free. Be warned though that it will still cost an extra $80 to get a photo with Val Kilmer or Kate Beckinsale.
Also featured are exhibitors that cater to a wide-spectrum of interests including comic books, magazines, toys, games, Star Wars, Star Trek, anime, manga, cosplay, artwork, sketches and apparel. In addition, a roster of comic industry professionals, and comicdom-related celebrities are in attendance for attendees to meet and greet.
It’s only in its eighth year the event is growing dramatically. Only about 600 people attended the first event, which was held in a hotel ballroom in 2010 but around 60,000 people are expected to turn out for this year’s Comic Con.
Saturday will have the highest concentration of Hollywood stars, but it’s worth checking times and dates at tampabaycomiccon.com if you’re interested in specific people. You might also want to bring some old-fashioned folding money with you because of the extra fee celebrities charge for autographs and photos and most of them don’t take plastic.
