Coming to Orlando on 28th December is a treat for those folks with a sweet tooth. The Sugar Factory is opening the doors to its latest new restaurant and upscale candy store at I-Drive 360 and it’s bound to be a big hit judging from the preview we recently attended.
The new 8,000-square-foot eatery and retail shop features a really spacious dining room with menu items like burgers, crepes and pasta entrees and a multitude of candy-themed alcoholic drinks. The retail aspect features a walk-up window serving frozen treats and a truly outrageous sweet shop with a huge selection of pick and mix candy as well as an ice cream and coffee counter.
The service upon entry was extremely friendly with the delightful hostess, Dior, showing us to our table and our attentive server, Natalia, happily fulfilling our every need. Quite refreshing to go to a new restaurant and be the center of focus!
The Sugar Factory has other restaurants in New York, Chicago and Miami but the Orlando restaurant is the first location to offer weekend brunches, highlighted by red velvet pancakes, apple pie waffles and s’mores crepes.
This is the place where you can really can feel like a kid in a candy store and the whole concept is extremely well done. The interior space is neatly divided between the candy store and the main restaurant. The restaurant has marble topped bar and tables, chandeliers, TV screens, mirrors and some superb larger than life artwork. The atmosphere is casual but it can be a little noisy as the background music is amped up just a little to much to enable easy conversation. In fact, we found ourselves talking at a higher volume than normal.
The retail store is an gigantic collection of all the things you want but you know that are bad for you… but heck, you only live once! You’ll marvel at the selections of candy and chocolates knowing full well you want to try everything but daren’t just in case you grow into an Oompa Loopa! In fact, the only thing that is really missing is Willy Wonka himself, as this store would do him proud in more ways than one.
The location in the heart of I-Drive 360 caters to a family friendly crowd and to late night revelers as the restaurant stays open until 2am. The restaurant also hopes to make a name for itself with bachelor / bachelorette parties as well as Sweet 16 groups.
The Sugar Factory is the latest “must go to” venue in Orlando and if you visit www.FloridaleisurePhotography.com you can see the menu as well as other photographs of the facility. Enjoy!
