For the eighth consecutive year, Runaway Country Music Festival will host the largest gathering of country music stars in Florida, and in 2018, this internationally acclaimed event will benefit the many needs of our most precious asset. Nemours Children’s Hospital receives a portion of every ticket sold, with 100% of each donation going directly to children in need of medical care.
“Our fans have helped us build something incredible, and we wanted to say thank you in the most personal and sincere way we could,” said Gary McCann (pictured below right), Executive Producer, Runaway Country. “We are so pleased to be able to support Nemours and share in their mission to serve children needing the best possible medical treatment.”
Nemours started with a promise. A promise to care for each child as we would our own. In 2012, we opened our doors in Orlando because families wanted a children’s hospital closer to home that has everything they need, all in one place. Our state-of-the-art children’s hospital in Orlando’s Lake Nona Medical City is the home to a team of extraordinary individuals who are united in a cause to prevent and treat even the most disabling childhood medical conditions. Nemours also powers the world’s most-visited website for information on the health of children and teens, KidsHealth.org and offers on-demand, online video patient visits through Nemours CareConnect.
“Our hospital is a five year old hospital and a specialty care hospital” said Anthony Sudler (pictured above left), Chief Development Officer, “The families who use our hospital are ecstatic with our hospital and we want to continue to build our presence in the community. To partner with an event like this is unbelievable and it helps us to continue to help our children.”
Established as The Nemours Foundation through the legacy and philanthropy of Alfred I. duPont, Nemours provides pediatric clinical care, research, education, advocacy, and prevention programs to families in the communities it serves. Treating Kids isn’t part of what we do. It’s ALL we do.
“Runaway Country’s move to the Orlando area sparked a charity partnership with Nemours Children’s Hospital. Both organizations are growing and gaining attention in Central Florida and beyond,” says Nemours Children’s Hospital President Dana Nicholson Bledsoe. “When they learned about the life-changing work Nemours does for children with complex and specialty health care needs, they wanted to connect the fans with a great cause and support the children.”
“The earned proceeds will make an impact on children and families when they need it most,” Bledsoe says. “Fans can mingle, enjoy fantastic performances, and at the same time help children and families who are going through some of the most challenging times of their lives.”
The three-day event at Osceola Heritage Park starts tomorrow and is certain to draw record crowds to see award-winning artists led by Brantley Gilbert, Florida-Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Kane Brown, Brett Young, Cassadee Pope and more than other 25 performances.
