The 2015 PGA Merchandise Show is in Orlando this week. It commenced yesterday with Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Center before moving to Orange County Convention Center today. The show runs through to Friday 23rd January and it is an opportunity for golf professionals and golf retailers to find out about all the latest trends in the industry.
The show started back in 1954 when a small gathering of golf professionals decided to get together to collaborate on ideas and initiative for the industry. Today, over 1,000 companies are in attendance representing every aspect of golf.
It’s an opportunity to see the latest products, apparel lines, collections and technology as well as test out the latest equipment. There’s also an opportunity to meet with some of the PGA and LPGA professionals who attend the show to thank the industry and to represent various product lines. The show also has a full education program that sees sessions on various aspects of the golf business from profitability through to merchandising, marketing and technical golf swing teaching.
There’s also some unqiue and innovative products on show away from the main manufacturer booths such as Titleist, Callaway, Puma, etc. Frogg Toggs (pictured below right) features quality outerwear / rainwear that’s breathable, waterproof and affordable. Soxxy is a company that sells the coolest non slip “sox” on the planet in a variety of color choices. Sarah Stabile, (pictured below left), is the brains behind the product and the company was formed in 2010 when she pulled out her glue gun and began drawing X’s and O’s on the inside top rim of her sox in order to prevent them from slipping.
Also at the show is Carlos Fachi’s unparalleled fusion of art and design that inspires the woman who appreciates bold color and innovative workmanship. Kari Romeo (pictured below left) demonstrated the exotic skins and unique color combinations that create authentic and timeless styles in the collection.
Accessory designer Leigh Ann Barnes (pictured above right) is also at the show and she is demonstrating her own product that uses the leather remnants and turns them into bands that can be used in a variety of ways.
The show concludes on Friday.
