The future of the amusement park and attractions industry is currently taking shape in Orlando as new innovations in rides, slides, technology and much more is being unveiled at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).
The show started on Monday and runs through to Friday 21st November at Orange County Convention Center. It is the largest trade show in the global attractions business and provides a platform for the industry’s newest game changing products to be tested, tried and purchased by influential buyers representing leading amusement parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, zoos, aquariums, science centers and more from around the world.
The Expo features 1,000 exhibitors who are showcasing their latest innovations in more than 540,000 square feet of exhibit space. They are displaying new products in the fields of thrill rides, midway games, water slides, inflatables, simulators, food and beverage, technology, safety and a whole lot more for the 27,000 attendees visiting the show.
We took a look at the show yesterday and can report it is extremely busy with people having fun and lots of business being done. We also took a lot of photos and you can see some of the latest and greatest products at www.FloridaLeisurePhotography.com
Perhaps one of the nicest things to come out of the show was the announcement that Italian manufacturer Zamperla has donated a new ride to our friends at Give Kids the World Village. The butterfly-themed ride, called “Lori’s Magical Flight,” (pictured above) has several vehicles that slowly spin in a circle and rise when kids pedal them. Children who can’t use their legs, however, can pedal with their arms instead. The ride also has a vehicle that wheelchairs can be directly loaded onto. The ride is named after Lori Beth Skloff, a former “wish child” who volunteered with Give Kids the World before she passed away in January this year.
