The Orlando Eye adds first passenger capsule
Another landmark was reached today as The Orlando Eye added the first passenger capsule to the 400 foot structure located on International Drive, close to Orange County Convention Center.
The capsules were actually manufactured in Turkey before being transported to Hungary for assembly. They then traveled to Germany before setting off for Florida and arriving on site in November 2014.
In total, there will be 30 capsules that will be attached to the outer wheel giving riders incredible views of the surrounding Central Florida area. The capsules will have room for up to 15 guests, have audio and lighting effects and offer a fully air conditioned 360 degree view.
Construction for the project as well as the brand new Madame Tussauds Orlando wax attraction and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium is on schedule for a late Spring opening.
