The United States Men’s National Team were held to a 1-1 draw in front of 14,805 fans at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton earlier tonight.
The US went ahead through a Josy Altidore goal in the 10th minute as Altidore brought the ball back inside and fired home past Donis Escober in the Honduras goal.
Honduras were unlucky not to equalise after 30 minutes when Nick Ramando in the US goal made a hash of a clearance and it fell to Andy Najar who fired just over the bar.
The first half ended 1-0 but Honduras showed they were no push over with some determined play.
Honduras pushed for an equaliser in the second half as the US seemed content to hit them on the break. A deserved equalizer came for Honduras in the 86th minute as Maynore Figueroa headed home a Mario Martinez corner.
The friendly game was highly competitive as both sides showed they were prepared to mix it as three players from each side ended up with yellow cards from referee Yadel Martinez.
Full Time: 1-1
