It’s been a very busy weekend this past weekend. Not only was the Orlando Home Show on but there were many events happening around the Orlando area to try and raise awareness to defeat breast cancer. One such event was one held at Cecil’s Texas Style BBQ at 2800 S. Orange Avenue, Orlando to help raise money that will go to fighting the deadly disease.
The star of the show, although she’d rather not have been, was my dear friend Ann Marie Podskalan. Earlier this year she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment to beat it. So far the treatment plan is going well but what amazes me is Ann Marie’s amazing ability to carry on pretty much as normal. In this quest, she is brilliantly supported by her amazing husband Philip and their friends.
Everyone gathered yesterday to enjoy a great event with some wonderful food and fabulous entertainment. Musicians Jerry Gibb, Steve Gillis, Bubba, Jeff Howell, Steve Brannon and Chris and Subtropicals all gave the attendees a superb afternoon. Stars from the Orlando Predators also made an appearance with Tanner Varner, Simeon Castille and his wife Haley, Mark Lewis and his wife Jill and Tim Cheatwood all in attendance along with the East Orlando Junior Predators.
