Play Off Time For Orlando City
It’s another big day in the City Beautiful and in particular for Orlando City.
The franchise with desires to become part of the MLS set up, tonight looks to advance to the final stage of the 2012 season as it takes on arch rivals Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL Pro Play Off Semi Final.
The Hammerheads are the only team to have beaten Orlando in the regular league schedule this season and much is at stake as both teams look to advance to the USL PRO Championship Final. Orlando will be huge favorites on home turf but the threat from Wilmington will not be underestimated by Orlando Head Coach Adrian Heath.
Having beaten Wilmington 4-0 at the start of the season, Orlando went to the away game with high hopes…but left unhappy with a 3-1 loss. The two clubs then shared a 1-1 draw later in the season and Coach Heath knows tonight’s game will be a tough one:
“Like I say against everyone, we’ll give them the respect they deserve. But we don’t fear anyone. We’re confident in our own ability to get the job done. Our memories of the final last year are still very vivid, very fresh. That will be out motivation on Friday, because we want to experience that again.”
Tonight’s the night and with tickets starting as low as $15, there’s no excuse for you not to be at the Citrus Bowl ready for the 7.30pm kick off to cheer your team on. Hopefully the team will get the right result and if so, we’ll all reconvene next Saturday, 8th September for the final game of the season and a chance for back to back championships.
